Kip Calahan is an entertainer…………..
Whether from her tours of the United States and Japan, or the airplay she has received on XM Satellite Radio, or her chart action in Germany and France, people around the globe are coming around to this feisty, vivacious Country and Western singer/songwriter!

She has been traveling all over the United States ever since she was 18 years old performing at fairs, rodeos, honky tonks, community centers, private parties, weddings and funerals. Kip provides both high energy professionalism and authenticity ... a distinctly precious rarity.
She learned the artistic side of the music business at an early age performing in high school musical productions of "Oklahoma", "Cabaret", "Oliver", and "Brigadoon". At age 18 she was playing in a country band out of Las Cruces, NM. She then went on to spend six years in Nashville.

Spending time in Nashville gave Calahan the chance to host and co-produce a live country radio show out of Daysville, KY. She has performed and worked with some of Nashville’s best session players and country music’s top performers such as Tracy Lawrence, Jo Dee Messina, Tim McGraw, Trisha Yearwood and Garth Brooks.

After moving to the “bootheel” of New Mexico, Kip decided to set her sights on “western” music. She has written and recorded many songs about cowboys, cowgirls, the west and ranch life.

She has been a featured performer at top western music festivals such as Elko, Nevada; Texas Cowboy Gathering in Alpine, Texas; Tombstone, Arizona Western Music Festival; Heber City, Utah.

Her song "What Cowboy Means" won Song of the Year honors at the Western Music Association's Awards in Albuquerque.
"Dust Devil Angel" won the Academy of Western Artists Association's "Will Rogers Cowboy Award" for Best Western Album of the Year 2005
She has also won Academy of Western Artists’ Female Vocalist of the Year and Western Music Association Crescendo (Rising Star) Award.

Kip spends her time caring for her daughter Kyli, selling real estate, writing songs, recording and performing.

Kip now lives with her daughter Kyli at their family ranch in Southwest New Mexico.
